Field Hockey Season Recap

Field+Hockey+Season+Recap

The Harriton Field Hockey team finished their season with ten wins and seven losses, finishing in ninth place in the AA district league.

With four wins and five losses in the Central League, leaving them in sixth place, the Rams fell just shy of Lower Merion, who finished in fifth.

The team’s biggest win was a 3-2 overtime win against Garnet Valley. After fighting through a tough game, the girls showed character and heart, defeating a strong team to celebrate two of their coaches’ birthdays. The team made history, as they clinched their first ever first round playoff game.

Seniors Fleur DeJong and Sophie Grady showed true leadership as commanding members of the team. Captains Sarah Marks, Molly McDonough, and Sophie Grady developed the team into a closer knit unit.

The captains, along with the likes of Meg Willcox, Greta Stahl, Nikki Handel, Grace Copeland, Katelin Williams, and freshman Lucy Dwyer, led the team to the astronomical success that they found this season. The team looks to expand on its success next fall, so watch out!
