Whether you are single, in a relationship, its complicated, or anything else you could possibly put as your Facebook relationship status, Valentine’s Day is one of the most important relationship days of the entire year. It is a time when people in couples exchange gifts and cards, and eat food to celebrate. It is also a time of great stress; finding a great gift for someone special can be tough. No matter what your relationship status, these apps will keep you stress free and entertained at least until February 15.

Gaming: Disney Where’s my Valentine?

This Valentine’s Day themed app features two Disney characters, Swampy and Perry, who battle their way through 12 levels in order to find a Valentine. The game is filled with red, pink, and other V-Day colors, and each level is decorated with hearts and otherwise heart-themed. This game allows you to help your favorite cartoon characters find love, across a dozen levels of Valentine’s Day themed fun. It is compatible with iPhone and iPad, and free in the app store.

Finding a Gift: Gift Plan

The Banner featured Gift Plan around the holiday time, but this app is also perfect for Valentine’s Day. Gift Plan acts as an organizational tool, allowing the user to list both the occasions and the people for whom they must shop. It provides both reminders and gift ideas for the user, and provides a central hub through which the user can keep track of their Valentine’s Day gift ideas and purchases.

Cooking for Someone: The Photo Cookbook

Valentine’s Day is a holiday where people often choose to stay in and cook a special meal for their special someone. If you’re planning on doing something of that nature, but have no idea what or how to cook, buy the Photo Cookbook. It features recipes of meat, fish, vegetarian, and all dietary preferences, along with pictures of each of the ingredients to make cooking them as simple as possible. The app’s only problem is that most recipes have to be purchased, which can be a bit of a hassle, especially since the app itself costs $3.99. However, if you don’t mind the price, it is a very useful app for those challenged in the culinary area who would like to impress someone on Valentine’s Day.

Making a Card: Red Stamp Cards

There are many card applications, all of which allow you to create cards for your Valentine. The most well reviewed is Red Stamp Cards, which allows the user to customize a variety of cards for loved ones. They can use preset formats, their own pictures, and much more to create a great digital card to send to your friends or Valentines. Although it is great for any time of year, it is particularly useful on Valentine’s Day. It is currently free in the app store.

Getting a Reservation: OpenTable

OpenTable is an app that allows users to find restaurants and make reservations. Much like other restaurant applications, users can search through restaurants by location, price, food type, and other factors. The application also offers reviews so you can find the perfect restaurant for you and your Valentine. The application also added special Valentine’s Day details, including prix fixe menus, in case you choose to go somewhere fancy enough to have a special prix fixe menu. The app is free, and is great for finding a great place to eat on Valentine’s Day.
