RAM of the Week: Aileen Lavelle, Freshman

This week, The Banner features another one of the coolest kids at our school. Freshman Aileen Lavelle dove right into everything Harriton had to offer her first year as she joined the Harriton swim team as well as the revered Science Olympiad group.  When you meet this girl, you are almost always greeted with a one of a kind laugh and magnetism, which is what attracted the Harriton Banner to feature her.  So without further ado, here is Aillen Lavelle!

Harriton Banner:  Who is your “Man Crush Monday”?

Aileen Lavelle: My man crush Monday would have to be either Will Smith or Zack Efron.

HB: If you could invite three celebrities to dinner who would they be and why?

AL: I would have dinner with John Stewart because he is hilarious and seems to be pretty intelligent. I would also have dinner with Oprah because she is so charismatic and I think a conversation with her would be really interesting. Lastly, I would have dinner with Barack Obama (if he counts as a celebrity) because I think he is brilliant, interesting and I have so many questions that I would love to ask him. If Barack Obama doesn’t count as a celebrity, I would like to have dinner with John Green because his books are amazing and his history videos are entertaining while also being informative.

HB: How has your experience been with Science Olympiad and what was your craziest moment in this club?

AL: My experience with Science Olympiad has been amazing! All of the people that do it are brilliant, funny, helpful, and hardworking. I am so glad I joined. This question is hard because I cannot put one experience over another. I think my entire science Olympiad experience has been crazy.

HB:  If you were a box of cereal what would you be and why?

AL: If I were a box of cereal, I would be Cheerios because they are delicious while also being kind of healthy (Aileen is a vegetarian).

HB: Who is your favorite gym teacher?

AL: My favorite gym teacher is Mr. Curyto because he is so nice and fair.

HB: Do you like four way volleyball or dodge ball the best?

AL: I like dodge ball the best.

HB:  What is your all time favorite TV show?

AL: My all time favorite TV show is definitely “Boy Meets World.”  Although, “Scrubs” and “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” are close seconds.

HB: If you could change one thing at Harriton what would it be?

AL:  If I could chance one thing it would be to stop selling plastic water bottles because they are so bad for the environment.

HB:  Would you rather have to fight a cow or a cobra?

AL: I think I would rather be in a fight with a cow because that would be hilarious and probably not be as painful as fighting a cobra.

HB:  Do you vine and are you a fan of the MAGCON boys?

AL: I have a vine, but I don’t post anything. I like some of the MAGCON boys but I would not call myself a hardcore fan by any stretch.

HB: What is the most important part of a sandwich?

AL: The bread is the most important part of a sandwich because without bread it couldn’t be called a sandwich.

HB: What is your personal statement?

AL: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” -Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
