Who We’re Following

Who Were Following

With the age of modern technology among us, social media is at its peak. There are infinite ways to communicate and express yourself. Out of the thousands of apps available, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat are by far the most popular social media apps used by the Harriton community on a daily basis. However, with so many different accounts and people to follow, it can be a challenge to find accounts that you enjoy, so I have taken it upon myself to find the best social media accounts to follow to and keep up with!

Celebrities:

Instagram- @taylorswift

With over 60 million followers, Taylor Swift is one of the most popular celebrities in the media. Her feed features her cats, funny pictures of Taylor and her friends (like Karlie Kloss, Hailee Steinfeld, Selena Gomez), and amazing videos of her concert performances. Taylor is one of the biggest and still rising stars that you don’t want to miss out on!

Twitter- @AnnaKendrick47

Despite the fact that she is not the most popular account on Twitter, Anna Kendrick’s Twitter is a must see if you are looking for a laugh. Tweeting relatable and hilarious lines such as “My life would be so much easier if it wasn’t for that thing…God, what is that thing called…other people,” Anna writes exactly what you’re thinking, but she’s not afraid to say it! Besides her humor, she is a strong believer in calling people out for wrongdoings, so her Twitter may inspire you to stand up for not only yourself but also for others.

Health and Fitness:

Instagram- @mindbodygreen

Also a blog at mindbodygreen.com, MBG is an all around health and fitness account. It posts healthy food ideas, new workouts, tips to be happier and to be more mentally healthy, and motivational and meaningful quotes. If this account doesn’t make you want to eat healthier and workout right away, then I don’t know what will.

Twitter- @Fitspirational

A health focused account with over 1 million followers, Fitspirational posts new workouts to try, tips on how to eat healthier and lose weight, and motivational quotes and videos to get you pumped up to work out and eat healthier.

Food:

If you love food even a fraction as much as I do you will love this account. Not only does it post the typical delectable dessert pictures you desire, this account also posts pictures of mouth-watering savory foods like burgers, nachos. Stephanie, the owner of the account, even makes salads look amazing.

Snapchat- @Bakerita

Blessing its viewers with stories of delicious desserts such as Oreo skillet brownies, this account will leave you hungry for more. This account will give you creative and new ideas for decadent desserts and is the perfect thing to have on your story feed.

Sports:

At a staggering 6’8” and only a sophomore in high school (not to mention on my Penn Charter swim team), Reece Whitely is the next Olympian in the breaststroke. Having already won Sports Illustrated Kid of the Year (for 2015) and swimming in the Olympic Trials this summer in the final heat of the 200 breast, Reece is hoping to make his break on the USA Swim Team for the 2016 Olympics.

News:

Instagram- @eonline

If you’re more into celebrity news and what’s going in the world surrounding people, then this account is definitely for you. With daily updates about engagements, babies, birthdays, and much more, you will be up to date with all of your favorite celebrities (also as a bonus this account also shows off celebrities’ best outfits so this account is great for fashion as well).

Twitter- @HuffingtonPost

Huffington Post is my favorite way to stay on top of current events. They frequently update their feed with not only national news but world news as well. They are always up to date with the newest stories and events, and their articles (their tweets link to their articles) are interesting, easy to read, and super informative.
