The Harriton Book Club’s recent school-wide book drive collected an astounding 440 books to be donated to local projects that serve children not likely to live in a book-rich environment.

The children’s books have been donated to Philadelphia Reads which is a nonprofit that promotes literacy, and the young adult/adult books have been donated to Project HOME which has a learning center and offers classes to those who are low-income to help promote educational goals and to encourage employment. Both organizations are in Philadelphia.

Ms. Finn, the founder of the club, stated, “It’s important to let everyone know that Harriton participation helps a lot of people and Mr. Plump [club sponsor] and I are very thankful for it.
