Holly Marie Montesino picks three great songs for you to curl up and listen to this week.

“Summer Rain” by Gfriend

This sweet love song will warm you up in this chilly weather. This particular song, by the South Korean girl group Gfriend or Yeoja Chingu (from their album Parallel) is about love hitting you suddenly, like a summer rain. The six-member group shows off their powerful vocals and sweet lyrics, and is sure to leave you wanting more.

“Medicate” by Gabbie Hanna

Taking a step away from the sweet love song, we now move on to a breakup anthem. In this song, Gabbie Hanna displays her remarkable vocal talent; her voice carries of emotion as she solemnly asks: “Can you medicate a broken heart?” This song will give you all the feels on a rainy day!

“Falling” by Elaine

Another sad song. What can I say? We can all agree that gloomy rainy days are the perfect weather for sad songs. This particular song speaks to the pain of losing someone but keeping them in your heart and memory. The line that caught my attention the most was:

Yes papa I’m falling falling/I keep falling in life/wish you were here/to pull me up of all the songs that/I can sing and can write /you’re the one I can hold on to.”

Elaine’s soft voice and beautiful, simplistic lyrics combine to deliver a peaceful tune.  This is the perfect song to listen to with that book I mentioned earlier!
