Apple has been dropping new devices throughout quarantine, one of which is the AirPods Max. These wireless earbuds have exciting new features such as noise-canceling, high definition audio, and spatial audio, and have garnered attention because of the successes of previous models: the AirPods and AirPods Pro. The earbuds were dropped on December 8th and are available today.

Setting up the AirPods Max is easy; the earbuds require you to use an iOS device running iOS 14.3 or a Mac running macOS 11.1, which were both released earlier this week. Once you are connected, you can start listening to music right away. One plus is that if you are connected to one Apple device, it will automatically pair with your other Apple gear, which is a huge time saver. These AirPods were designed for simplicity and comfort, not for high gear uses. Apple says the AirPods Max provide up to 20 hours of high-fidelity audio, talk time, or movie playback, which ordinarily wouldn’t seem like a huge amount of time; however, given that this time includes the use of active noise cancellation, it is a respectable figure.

While the AirPods Max are not widely talked about due to their quiet announcement during a press conference and their minimalist design and simplicity, they were an overall hit; many consumers say that the audio and comfort is worth the steep price of $549.
