Tired of making the long trip to New York for a fresh, chewy bagel? Philly residents are in luck, because Pop Up Bagels just opened in Ardmore’s Suburban Square. The soft, fresh-from-the-oven bagels captured the attention of many Philly residents weeks before they even arrived. Unlike any other bagel spot in the Philadelphia area, Pop Up Bagels is known for its simple yet appetizing bagels dipped into exotic flavored schmears. From their salted butter spread to Grillo’s Pickle De Gallo cream cheese, there is a flavor for everybody’s taste buds. Even without a schmear, the bagels ranging from plain to sesame seed are perfectly toasted with a soft, delicate, doughy middle.
In 2020 during the pandemic, owner Adam Goldberg started a creative project making bagels to give to his family friends. As popularity spread and demand became high, he expanded his at-home kitchen into a thriving business with many locations on the East Coast.
What truly sets this bagel place apart from the rest is the whole experience. Customers are encouraged to “Grip, Rip, and Dip”. Just as the motto suggests, customers grab a bagel, tear it apart, and dip it into their schmear of choice. This hands-on experience keeps each bite fun and entertaining, turning what could be a simple meal to an engaging bagel experience that keeps customers coming back for more.
