Lady Rams Earn Hard-Fought Victory

The Harriton Girls Basketball team won a nail-biter against central league rival Conestoga 41-40. Conestoga started off the game with a string of good shots, but the Rams soon caught on, minimizing the number of shots there out with great defense. The scores of both teams remained very close the rest of the game, never differing by more than 4 points. With less than two minutes left, Conestoga made a layup, taking a 1 point lead. The Rams took the ball down, crossed half court, and would have lost the ball to a turnover without a timely timeout call. After the quick planning session, the girls ran a play that ended with Sabrina Tabasso’s making an open layup for the lead. With less than a minute left to play, Conestoga missed a layup and got fouled under the basket. Luckily, the shooter missed both shots, and a lane violation was called against another Conestoga player on the second shot, giving Harriton possession. The Lady Rams inbounded the ball and held it for the next 2.3 seconds to walk away with the victory.
